By Elise Hamdon

This is our fortnightly community and communications update; last week’s engineering update is available here.

If you’ve been waiting for 2.0.5, we’ve been delayed but are looking at a Monday release. Stay tuned.

From the Blog

ECC is committed to openness and transparency — as we help evolve and support the Zcash digital currency, and in support of our mission to empower everyone with economic freedom and opportunity. To this end, our transparency report details company income, expenses and use of funds during the second half of 2018.

Events

This past week some members of the team attended Consensus 2019. @paige and @acityinohio hosted a discussion about respective development roadmaps for Electric Coin Company and the Zcash Foundation. Josh Swihart, VP of Marketing and Business Development, joined a panel to discuss how blockchain tech can help rebuild Venezuela. Brad Miller, Developer Relations Manager, presented about shielded Zcash on mobile.

Tomorrow, May 18th, @elisehamdon is presenting an Introduction to Zcash at the Greek Cryptocurrency Community meetup.

If you’re in the Denver area on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, RSVP for the upcoming Zcash Happy Hour at The Woods! Grab a drink and talk with fellow Zcash enthusiasts. Some Zcash engineers will be in attendance. Stop by for what promises to be a great discussion.

Zcon applications are still open but prices go up and scholarships end in 1 week.
